Just when the emotions were starting to settle down, along comes a group of rabble-rousing outsiders to stir things up again. For what purpose? Fred Phelps is just as welcome.

I am a member of the FFRF and fully support all of their work and efforts in the U.S. These billboards are no exception. This is the United States and those of us who support the use of scientific study and oppose the supernatural being taught as a matter of scientific fact in our schools have the same freedom of speech as everyone else.

I still can't figure out how it's possible for anyone to not believe in evolution. Obviously they haven't read the absolutely massive proof of its accuracy. If you choose not to educate yourself on both sides of the issue I suppose that is your right (albeit in my view very irresponsible as a citizen of the world). But it is my right to be educated and to believe in fact rather than hearsay. If Creationists would just leave us alone, most of us would be more than happy to return the favor.

And I completely agree that I'd have no problem with Creationism being taught in a philosophy and/or comparative religion class in public schools but it does not belong in a science class because Creationism is NOT scientific. (Find one scientifically testable element of creationism, I dare you...)

Very well-written Dan, thanks for helping to make our voices heard!
