A truly disappointing waste of theatrical technology and flair. As with most of the museum, this “show” was well produced (totally bat s%&t  crazy) but well done. The Men In White were the angels Michael and Gabriel. By putting a “hip” spin on an old story for the sake of youngsters, teachers and scientists are comically portrayed as villainous and silly.
The show starts with a young animatronic girl named Wendy sitting at a campfire pondering her existence and the meaning of life. During her moment of lost contemplation and doubt, Michael & Gabriel show up to raise her spirits. The implication is that without a purpose from God, Wendy is lost, alone and miserable. The angels show up to persuade Wendy that God exists and cares for her and they begin to show her “proof” of his existence. It is here that the angels begin with, ” …if you use the bible as your starting point Wendy, then everything makes sense!” ANGEL SAYS WHAT?? Imagine if your science teacher started your first class with, ” …if you just take everything I say as fact, then everything makes sense!” From the very beginning this presentation insults the human intellect. Science doesn’t require blind faith and it never suggests a “starting” point. This is where the “machine gunning” of “facts” begins.
When you start with the bible everything makes sense like:
1. Marine fossils found on mountain tops? Those mountains were once covered in water from the great flood.
2.Volcanic dust found in ice cores? Just think of all that volcanic ash in the atmosphere after the flood.
3. Similarities in DNA found in the cells of every living thing? Since God created DNA he made it so that all living things could live and eat in the same world.
If you believe in evolution or as the angels call it “goo to you” then none of this makes sense. According to the angels, “…evolution makes no sense without billions of years!”
-Next we move on to discredit radioisotope dating. This form of dating is flawed because there are too many assumptions required to be accurate, say the angels. Zircon crystals have been found with helium gas in them. This suggests that they are not nearly as old as man believes because the helium gas is escaping to quickly to be millions of years old. It gets all “sciencey” but it is fascinating and alot more accurate than two white overall clad buffoon like angels.
-Next we learn from the angels that the earth can’t be millions let alone billions of years old because of the salt content in the oceans. The angels (portraying high school students in a science class) smuggly challenge a teacher about the age of the earth due to the lower than they expected salt content in the oceans. This is called EPIC FAIL. This moronic notion that if the earth were millions of years old there would be higher concentrations of salt in all of the world’s oceans is wrong. Wrong for several reasons but once again I would direct you to the following CHRISTIAN website to read the refutation of this quackery. http://www.answersincreation.org/argument/G336_creation_science.htm This article explains that creationist’s salt theories are misguided and fail to account for several factors involving the mechanisms for the removal of salt from the oceans.
-Next up, the crazy dinosaur theory. Our smug little angels tell their professor that in 2005 a T-Rex leg bone was found with blood cells intact and un-fossilized. This obviously means that the leg bone could not be millions of years old, right? WRONG! Again the answers to the BS claim come from a CHRISTIAN website. http://www.answersincreation.org/rebuttal/magazines/Creation/1997/trexblood.htm . In this excerpt there is an email log from the actual paleontologist, Jack Horner, who was chiefly involved in this discovery. He goes on to explain that it is not true and that creationist are grasping at half truths and no facts.
-The angels just can’t quit. Next we find out from these two brainiacs that the earth’s decaying magnetic field would indicate that life could not have survived millions of years ago. This is again refuted at http://www.answersincreation.org/argument/G811_creation_science.htm . The angels are referring to a scientific article written by Thomas Barnes. It has been all but publically laughed at by theoretical scientists and bears no scientific weight.
-Next…lack of super nova remnants proves a young earth, say the angels. No, it doesn’t. http://www.answersincreation.org/malone_supernova.htm . I hate to keep linking after every point but since the creation museum didn’t use any real science to make their point, I figured I should.
With about thirty minutes of research on the Internet I have found tons of articles scientifically refuting everything said in this absurd display of purposeful ignorance. The men in White should be taken away and locked up by …men in white jackets. The most disheartening part of this “program” was the fact that children were in the audience being “taught”. Shame on the creation museum and shame on the parents who made their children sit through this glaring display of stupidity.
The brainwashing of children is the real reason anyone believes this crap in the first place. The young mind is unable to mount a defense against an idea like that, so they just take it all on board by nature. They are also programmed to blindly follow the whim of and not to question their elders and other authorities for fear of being punished for daring to think critically. Few people ever snap out of it.

first I would say I was an Atheist at one point for over 25 years and believed in evolution.,, the more I learn about science now ,, shows me I was wrong, Jy Chen Paleontologist in China in the Chen Jiang’s fossil bed says that Darwins tree should be turned up side down and all major phyla appears at once, in the pre cambrian area. Kent hovind also showed me that the bible does follow with science.. Arkeology also shows more proof that the bible is accurate in its history.
As far as my time as a non believer,it was a care free, dont have to answer to know one time I thought I was haveing a good time, living it up and when I relized that it was not bringing me happiness and contentment and I was caught up in drugs and drinking, that I needed help to get me turned around . Becoming a christain fixed alot of my problems, Im happier now that I have purpose and know that one day i will see my maker.
Christians teach that there are morals, that gives people guide lines to live a happy lives with out all the vises they had as non believersas as well changing there eternal addresses .We help in national disasters and in local areas such as feeding the homeless and helping the needy with clothes and heat and electric bills,we give tithes to help with this.
I have never seen a atheist group do any of these things, usally I see just a battle of wanting God out of the picture!
I personally dont make fun of atheist. I have compassion for your group as well as any non blevievers,So wouldnt it a better ideal to take all the time we waisted on proving that something is or isn’t true and do something useful to people who need our help some how?

First I’d like to thank you for taking the time to read this blog. We may not agree but it’s nice to know that rational discourse can take place.
While I think the two of us could go back-and-forth with scientific discoveries that support both of our points, I don’t believe that gets to the heart of the matter.
Let me first state very clearly it is not strictly Christianity I have an issue with, it is theism in total. It may seem from some of things you’ve read that I have a particular bent toward Christianity. I do not. It just so happens that Christianity is the form of religion I’m most familiar with having been brought up with a Christian background but I’m an equal opportunity disbeliever.
If you have read any of my other posts you may be able to tell that I’m a bit of a Star Trek fan. I remember many times as a child around the age of 10 being faced with moral problems like any other 10 year old. I also remember thinking to myself, hmm, what would Capt. Kirk do. I always felt that Capt. Kirk led a fair, moral and righteous life. Having Capt. Kirk as a role model seemed to work out pretty well for me as a child but even as a child I realized Capt. Kirk wasn’t real. I realized as a child that sometimes we can find good moral grounding in fictional characters.
This brings me to Jesus. If you feel that believing in a fictional savior has helped you straighten out your life and put things in order, great! I’m glad you were able to find a system that works for you and has led you to live a happy and fulfilled life. You mentioned all the turmoil that you went through before finding religion. Well Tim I’ve been an atheist since I was a child yet I’m not a druggie, I’m not a drinker and I’ve never been a womanizer. By your way of thinking my “lack” of morality should have led me down a much different path. It didn’t because I didn’t need religion to provide me with my sense of morality. I had Capt. Kirk.
I take umbrage with your assertion that charitable deeds are never under taken by atheists. I submit for the most part, it’s because they’re not attention seeking, limelight loving people who are putting on a pretense to make it into heaven. I would be willing to bet that a vast number of atheists do in fact do charitable deeds.
I myself do a tremendous amount of charitable giving, I always try to do it anonymously. Why do I do it anonymously you may ask. It’s because when I do it I want make sure I’m doing it for the right reason. I’m not doing it so God and my fellow parishioners can see, I’m doing it because I think it’s the right thing to do and I don’t need to garner attention to make myself feel better about it.
I pay for the private education of an under privileged child, anonymously. I donate thousands of dollars worth of Christmas gifts and Christmas food every year to needy families, anonymously. I subsidized the college tuition of an abused young girl so that she could go to school, anonymously. Look, I could go on but I think I’ve made my point. I’m an atheist and I’m a good person.
You mentioned that you don’t make fun of atheists. In general I don’t make fun of Christians. I do however make exceptions for people like Ray Comfort for example. Ray is someone who I believe uses intellectual dishonesty to further his cause. You may be aware he is about to re-release On the Origin of Species by Charles Darwin. It might interest you to know that in his rerelease he chose to delete four chapters. Now if this book truly supports his belief, and I don’t believe it does, why delete four chapters. Plain old simple dishonesty.
To answer your final question I can put it simply in a few sentences. I’m not protesting the existence of God. I’m protesting the use of God by earthly beings to further political and global causes that pose a threat to truly peaceloving people. I don’t oppose God I oppose religions. And never forget this is a freethinking forum if people don’t like what is said here they don’t have to read it.
Just remember Tim in the end, whether it’s Jesus or Capt. Kirk, it doesn’t really matter. What does matter is that we all learn to get along.
I’d like to add some specifics to Craig’s response.

I’m always amazed when theists think this way. We (atheists) don’t protest something we believe doesn’t exist. We protest humans who use religion to further some political agenda.
I.D./creationism is the PERFECT example! If we just ignored this movement (we don’t believe it, right?) they would get their way and get this religious idea into SCIENCE class! This is why atheists care… if we didn’t the theists (not just christians but ALL theists) would inject their religious beliefs into everything!
Oh – and like Craig I do charity work. Lot’s of “free-thought” organizations do – but like Craig said they don’t publicize it.
