Nicely put... and very true.

I've heard the claim that the Christian god is almighty and unchanging... which means that all the Old Testament nastiness is just as relevant now as it was 2,000 years ago.

I don't differentiate between the books when christians bring something up. They're still the same teaching of the same religion. I know a lot of christians who're all too happy to preach the happy stuff and ignore the gruesome reality of their god using the old testament/new testament song and dance.

A murderer is still a murderer even if he was nice after the fact. And the christian god supposedly killed thousands.

Ha! Biblically speaking, that's correct, but that's Old Testament stuff. Jesus is the New Testament stuff... though there are plenty of questionable passages from him, anyway. Just no deliberate stoning decrees.

Things like Matthew 10:33-36 and the like.

"But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

And a man's foes shall be they of his own household."

Very nice... not.

“He’s the prince of peace; he’s the only one who can get these kids to stop being so violent,”

Lol! That quote's pretty funny. Promoting christianity to stop violence in kids. Is she reading a different bible then the one commonly published? You know, the one promoting the stoning of gays and whatnot.
