I’m not taking any position here on global warming, but isn’t calling the opposition “cranks” a personal attack on those that disagree with GW? GW-deniers are often labeled as unintelligent hicks who don’t know any better. I’ve seen this first hand.

The personal attacks are coming from both sides of this issue, no doubt.

Yep. It’s funny that he says that if they can’t accept the foundational book of Genesis, then the authority of the entire bible is in question. I agree with him, but probably not for the reason he would like.

Fundamentalists like Ken Ham just can’t accept that the world is moving forward. Given the choice between accepting evidence for evolution and an old earth, or clinging to an ancient book that gives them comfort, they choose the latter every time.

And it’s dangerous. Adherents of creationism seem to think that they can reject evidence when it doesn’t suit their dogma. I’m concerned about scientific literacy in this country if creationists continue to spew their pseudo-science.

I’m waiting for the next time a creationist tries to claim we should have fossils for every step in a step-by-step incremental transition for every transition in every lineage. I’m going to ask him if he can produce the remains of every one of his ancestors is and challenge him that if he can’t then he isn’t descended from Adam and Eve and must be a demon! Heck, he’s only got to find ‘transitional fossils’ to cover about 6,000 years from Adam to now. Should be a snap.
