Institutionalized child rape

More from PZ Myers on the Catholic Church’s institutionalization of child rape.

How bad can a Catholic priest get?

Meanwhile, the Pope heads a Catholic office that was sheltering child-rapers, and the entire Catholic hierarchy is busily claiming the martyrdom of Christ for itself because people have started to complain about their intrusive little penises. They aren’t even trying for the moral flood plain, let alone the moral high ground. It’s more like they’re taking a dive in the Marianas Trench of turpitude while pretending to climb the Everest of propriety.

The difference between an organization with “a few bad apples” and the Catholic Church is that the church has institutionalized child rape. It’s not just a case of a good organization having some bad people. The church, at its highest levels, has repeatedly re-employed rapists, deceived parishioners, and trivialized child abuse… as a matter of policy!

The Catholic Church, as an organization, is rotten at its core.

The Catholic church in a nutshell…right where it belongs! I’m with Dan!

Priests - Hide your children

This quote was just released in a piece from the Associated Press:

“Jews “know from experience what it means to be victims of collective violence and also because of this they are quick to recognize the recurring symptoms,” said Cantalamessa, a Franciscan priest.”

Hmmm, where to begin? Let’s start with the obvious. Yes, Jews do know from experience what it means to be victims of collective violence. Let’s break this statement down now. The key word in this sentence is “victims”.  What is the definition of the word “victim”?

Well Dictionary.com says:

1. a person who suffers from a destructive or injurious action or agency: a victim of an automobile accident.

2. a person who is deceived or cheated, as by his or her own emotions or ignorance, by the dishonesty of others, or by some impersonal agency: a victim of misplaced confidence; the victim of a swindler; a victim of an optical illusion.

3. a person or animal sacrificed or regarded as sacrificed: war victims.

4. a living creature sacrificed in religious rites.

Well, definition number one and three certainly do pertain to the historic plight of the Jewish people. I really don’t see how any of these definitions pertain to the Catholic hierarchy though. Wait. Lets look at definition number four. Hmmm, “a living creature sacrificed in religious rites.” Now this one looks like it could work for the Catholic church…but wait, I think it works better for all the children who have been forcibly raped by leaders of the Catholic church. Yeah, I think it works better in that context.

Sorry Father Cantalamessa, but nice try! Your arrogance is astounding. How dare you compare your vaunted child raping hierarchy and willful cover up by participating leaders to war ravaged, holocaust-surviving Jews. You have now compounded the ignorance and arrogance, once only believed to have existed within the Catholic church. What type of megalomaniacal mind could possibly try to spin victimhood for the Catholic church?

To all of you pedophiles out there the Catholic church would like you to know, you’re not alone, they feel your pain. You poor victimized pedophiles.

You’ve got to be kidding me!

Reverend Raniero Cantalamessa, the Pope’s "personal preacher" is evidently comparing critics of Benedict and the Catholic church to Hitler.

When I read that, my mouth dropped and my reaction was "Are you f**king kidding me?!"

Calling someone out for enabling and protecting child molesters is like killing Jews? This is just more to add to the growing mountain of evidence indicating that the Catholic Church hierarchy is not only morally bankrupt, but outrageously despicable.

I’m am officially disgusted.

I smell a RAT-zinger!

The Emperor of CatholicismWhy is the head of the world’s largest cult not in prison…you know, the Pope? I’m not sure why the “current” Catholic sex scandal is making such news. It has been known and documented for years that Ratzinger was the author of the Catholic policy to move child molesters rather than prosecute them. The scope of the Catholic child raping may be larger then originally thought but Ratzinger was always known to be the man in charge of the cover up. This has never been in question.

Now, more to the point. Why is the Pope not being prosecuted for his support (by willful inaction) of child rape and torture?

Imagine a school where young children were being raped. Now imagine the Superintendent of that particular school district KNEW that one of his teachers was raping children and that his solution to the problem was to transfer that school teacher to another school within the district. Now,  let’s pretend that this teacher had raped 50 children. Forgetting any legal culpability, would their be any moral culpability on the part of the Superintendent? You’re damn right there would be.  Last but not least, pretend this happened at your child’s school and that your child was one of the 50 children raped!

This hypothetical situation is tame when compared to the real Catholic sex scandals. The real scandal involves   (I’m being WAY conservative) priests and thousands of children worldwide! It has become virtually institutionalized within the Catholic priesthood.

This one goes out to all of you Catholics out there.  How could you voluntarily continue to be part of an organization that would allow this man to act as it’s moral authority? If you really don’t have an answer to that question just ask yourself this. What would Jesus do?
